UHS owns and operates 218 locally-managed facilities, including 25 acute care hospitals, 187 behavioral health facilities and six ambulatory surgery centers in 36 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Hospital is seeking 2 full-time Program Specialist for our New Unit (AM or PM Shift). The Program Specialist serves as a lead Mental Health Specialist, providing direct care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The primary responsibilities of this positionare the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, and assisting patients with daily living activities. The Program Specialist also serves as a mentor and preceptor to new staff members. Though we are looking for someone with pediatric experience, the ideal candidate must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care topre-adolescent and adolescents as well. As a leader on the unit, the PS must possess knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior management, CPI leadership skills, and milieu management.

Job Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Psych or related field; Masters degree preferred with 4-5yrs working in Psychiatric Setting . Degree requirement may be waived if candidate possesses 10 years experience work
