Position Summary:

Valley Hospital is a private 122 bed psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health care and chemical dependency counseling services.  


The PRN (as needed) Program Therapist Specialist performs social services and psychotherapy functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while providing assessment, diagnosis, and psychotherapy treatment of individuals, couples, families, and groups to assist patient’s in achieving their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, psycho-education, complete specialized clinical psychotherapy services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.

Valley Hospital is centrally located with easy access to many areas of greater Phoenix. We are between North 35th and 36th Streets with East Earl to our north and East Thomas to our south. Education:  Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Counseling, Social Work, or a clinical related mental health field.

Experience:  A minimum of two (2) years experience in behavioral health with direct experience in family, group, and individual therapy, crisis intervention, treatment skills, and strong clinical assessment skills preferred. 

License:  Must possess a state license in counseling, social work, or clinical related mental health field.

Additional Requirements:  Specialized training or certification in a therapeutic skill or treatment area that is utilized by the hospital is preferred.  CPR certification and management of aggressive behavior (SAMA) training within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in a restraining procedure.  May be required to work flexible hours.
