Job Details

**Scope** The Promotional Operations Business Partner (BP) is the operational lead for the promotional materials review and approval process. The BP partners with BU brand team members/stakeholders (Legal, Medical, Marketing, Regulatory, Safety and Compliance) to support the planning, development, review and approval of compliant promotional materials aligning to and achieving brand objectives. The Business Partner interacts with all levels of management including and not limited to BURC Leadership, Promotional Operations Leadership, SMS North America and Commercial Operations Leadership. The BP requires a low level of supervision from their manager and contributes to improving the process and solving myriad issues and troubleshooting as they present within the scope of their responsibilities. The BP is a business-driven, process expert whose customer orientation and analytical skills can move to elevate RC performance to better meet the business needs.

The BP is an "influencer" in the sense that they must navigate the cross-functional matrix of the Review Committee (RC) dynamic across marketing and functional members by influencing without authority to uphold Compliance and the REG 08 process guiding decision-making and judgment, making them a critical partner in the RC process. They are a conduit for collaborative processes and are the central point of contact for the business regarding internal and external training of vendor partners and suppliers [offshore and onshore], inventory and logistics, agency planning and submissions, agency on-boarding and off-boarding, Safety networking across projects and "solutioning" with BT across a variety of applications.

**Key Responsibilities**

Establishes productive, professional relationships with assigned brand marketers, RC functional members, Commercial Operations counterparts and external stakeholders such as vendors and agencies Assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs proactively on an ongoing basis Project manages the operational process for promotional materials implementing strategy and tactical execution and acts as the single point of contact for assigned brands Facilitates process and systems training for internal RC participants and external agencies and vendors Resolves issues and establishes an escalation process throughout the promotional process where applicable Serves as an operations expert in process, promotional policies and guidance Provides cross-brand expertise and knowledge of policies with cross-functional counterparts in StratCO, and across vendor relationships as well as across a variety of internal stakeholders such as RC functional members, marketing and Compliance Partners with and supports stakeholders in achieving their review objectives in GCMA by analyzing metrics to advise of performance and remediation, share insights, prioritize requests for functionality, raising awareness around solutions that are appropriate and can be amortized across the brand, audience, or market Influences without authority in a highly unpredictable, matrix environment Partners with Compliance & Logistics to manage inventory Manages the end-to-end promotional materials with internal and external stakeholders leading issues resolution for audit of promotional materials process and ensuring systems and materials are audit ready


Regulatory & Policy Knowledge

Understands and has experience with implementation of Pfizer policy and DRT guidelines for social media, HCP communications, etc., recognizes applicable governing organizations (US. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Health Canada, Pharmaceutical Advertising Advisory Board (PAAB), Rx&D and Advertising Standards of Canada and their needs for material reviews and filings.


Highly articulate and possesses advanced written skills to effectively influence and lead others. Demonstrates confidence and knowledge of presentation skills/expertise required to create and deliver polished professional business presentations to internal and external partners.

Project and Time Management

Demonstrates knowledge of project management skills and possesses analytical competency. Successfully manages operations projects composed of multiple components, working with diverse internal teams.

Financial Management

Understands the fundamentals of working within financial systems, i.e., Ariba and SAP and PO management in accruals. Keeps project on budget.


Partners with all stakeholders to ensure compliance with Pfizer policies and SOP's and all aspects of the sub-certification process. Ensures familiarity with collaborative functions such as Procurement, BT and working with the CoE across Commercial Operations in a matrix style.

Anticipates compliance issues, escalates issues to appropriate reviewers, makes recommendations for resolutions, keeps management informed, implements approved actions, and shares learning's with Promo Ops team to raise awareness and increase expertise of entire team


Demonstrates the ability to contribute innovative ideas to enhance promotional materials management process

**Education Requirements**

BA / BS preferred

Bilingual written and oral French Canadian (Canada only)

Competent with business systems and capable of learning new applications Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in operations or marketing is preferred
