 Provider Data Strategy Lead


The Provider Data Strategy Lead will be responsible for   driving programs to achieve our regional goals around provider data with a strong focus on structured data acquisition. This individual will lead cross-functional teams to build and execute on business plans, and will be responsible for reporting (executive management reporting, weekly tracking, issues management reports, target lists, etc.) to both communicate progress and drive accountability with matrix partners.  He/she will work extensively with internal or external business constituents, be responsible for weekly report outs to the leadership group, and maintain close relationships with the local markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HEDIS data, be familiar with provider office management and EMRs, have strong analytical skills and proven project management discipline. This position will report to the Director of Strategic Programs in the East Region.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set strategy and lead programs to achieve HEDIS goals dependent on provider data
  • Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex data
  • Lead analysis and interpretation for operational and business review and planning
  • Interact with executives and confidently convey region strategy and issues the markets need to address in order to meet business objectives
  • Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities through analysis
  • Develop recommended business solutions through research and analysis of data and business process and implement when appropriate
  • Manage issues by proactively reporting progress and working with cross functional peers to resolve
  • Serve as Provider Data Acquisition SME to internal local teams, and in some instances, external providers
  • Serve as market SME to campaign leaders ensuring campaigns meet local market requirements and nuances
  • Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
  • Review work performed by others and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Partners with Market CEOs & Executive Directors to analyze plan performance  and address obstacles
  • Provide explanations and information to others on the most complex issues/ quality technical standards
  • Motivate and inspires other team members


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare business/data analysis
  • Proven project management discipline
  • Ability to work in high pace, complex organization
  • Experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint.)
  • Ability to communicate analyses including trends and opportunities to clients and the business in writing and verbally
  • Ability to problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business, finance, healthcare administration or equivalent
  • Masters degree
  • SAS
  • Working knowledge of provider office administration and EMRs
  • Experience in Risk Adjustment, Stars, Medicare Advantage
  • Clinical background/training (RN, NP, Pharm.D, etc) or ability business experience absorbing clinical quality specifications with the ability to speak with confidence
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint
