This position supports all aspects of the Retail Network Operations department, which includes, but is not limited to, payment and remittance administration, strategic and tactical projects, product development, analytics, communications, and relationship management with internal and external partners.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the pharmacy payment processes, including setup and delivery
  • basic knowledge of PBM practices and procedures
  • Use existing procedures and facts to solve routine problems or conduct routine analyses
  • Depend on others for instruction, guidance or direction
  • Be involved in identifying and remediating operational short-falls and researching and remediating claims
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives to ensure accuracy in provider payment and processes
  • Assist internal Optum departments with pricing, payment, and claims processing inquiries
  • Assist and / or lead tactical projects focused on customer satisfaction and implementation, and streamlining department processes
  • Assist and / or lead strategic projects specifically focused on mitigating risk and proactively protecting the company’s financial interests
  • Enhance the development of the Optum’s suite of technology products, specifically RxClaim
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED or higher
  • 1+ years of PBM (Prescription Benefit Management) experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a claims, customer service, or provider support role
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (Word - creating and editing docs / Excel - reviewing and analyzing data)
Preferred Qualification:
  • Strong understanding of RxClaim processing system and / or other PBM adjudication platforms
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher

  • Good organization and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines from multi-staff members within the department
  • Ability to work proactively and independently
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment, including scheduling flexibility
  • Exceptional research, analytical, and communications skills
  • Ability to provide strong leadership and guidance to direct reports and peers
