  • Management of and delivering the annual PQMd Degree of Difference Sensory program for NAF (US and Canada) Frito Lay and Nutrition Grains (Quaker).
  • Analysis of the 3rd party and in-plant sensory data, identifying the drivers of difference in results, providing insights to the manufacturing plants on reasons for a degree of difference, technical coaching on product scaling and key attributes, plus tracking and highlighting on trending of negative attributes.
  • Weekly and period tracking and reporting to senior Supply Chain and R&D leaders the PQMd metrics and KPI's, which are associated with quarterly and annual Supply Chain KPIs and bonus payments.
  • Management of the annual PQMd budgets for Frito Lay and Nutrition Grains; completion of all annual finance and procurement contract details, managing the associated PO's and ownership to track the monthly spend against budget.
  • Management of the two 3rd party contract service providers; including annual contract renegotiations; leading the weekly performance calls to maintain a high level of communication; closely tracking the testing schedule, Agro crop transitions, test results, usage of the PepsiCo branded reference products, and sensory testers performance.
  • Leading all PQMd Sensory Science tasks; including developing and qualifying training samples, developing \"LIVE\" training samples from manufacturing plants, creation of sensory ballots aligned with QA, QC and Brand Teams, training both the 3rd party and PepsiCo associates in all elements of the PQMd program, product scaling and key attributes.
  • Management of the monthly test sample retained product reviews which are completed by the QA Associate Assistants based in Plano and Barrington, including the associated reporting of results and product calibrations with manufacturing plant QC Associates.
  • Lead the bi-period 'Panel Accuracy Calibration' for both Frito Lay and Nutrition Grains to review the 3rd party testing panel accuracy to meet Frito Lay accuracy standards.
  • Project Leadership of a multi-functional team for introduction of new products, or any changes to the PQMd product line up.
  • Leading the NAF Sensory Skills Facilitator group to ensure continuous learning and engagement of manufacturing plant associates to increase their skills, capability and engagement. Maintain close connections with the Global In-plant Sensory community.
  • Manage the Sensory Skills Facilitator Training Program for NAF, ensuring all new facilitators are trained and certified.
  • Provide support to Supply Chain, R&D and 3rd party service providers in troubleshooting, issue resolution and data mining.
  • As a leader within the NAF QA Governance & Compliance team there may be other duties as assigned by the QA Senior Manager to provide support to the other projects and teams within FSQA.



Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in a Scientific or associated technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience within a Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Food Safety function in a Food environment.
  • Sensory Science qualification and/or associated experience highly preferred.
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a Food company highly preferred.
  • Solid working understanding of data metrics and data analysis and management tools.
  • Solid working understanding of Sensory Analysis, Consumer Complaints, In-plant Quality Control test attributes such as centerlining and weak Link.
  • A Lean Six Sigma (LSS) qualification will be an advantage.
  • Ability to travel within North America.
