Key Responsibilities:


Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Quality Control Manager will oversee quality assurance standards for facilities operations and building maintenance, repair, and minor alteration and construction services at the Forrestal and Germantown campuses. The Forrestal Building, built in 1968, is a 1.8 million square foot office building that houses the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Energy, the Department’s leadership, Headquarters functions, Child Development Center (CDC), and Earth Day Park. The daily population of approximately 4,300 people is responsible for Headquarters support, policy guidance for the Department, and management and oversight for the Department’s various energy, science, and the National Nuclear Security Administration’s program offices. The Forrestal campus is located at 1000 Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington, DC. The Germantown Campus, built in 1957, is a 98-acre campus which has a primary office building of 634,000 square feet, a 350-seat auditorium, a Child Development Center, a warehouse, and supporting buildings including a central boiler and chiller plant for the campus. The daily population is approximately 2,200 people. The Germantown Campus is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Germantown campus is located at 19901 Germantown Road, Germantown, MD

Position Summary

The activities of this position are directed towards supporting Commodity products and participating in the procurement process to assist in defining product quality standards, developing & monitoring specification limits, conducting product analysis to assure conformance, analyzing trends on product deficiencies and establishing vendor auditing protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree 

Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in QA or R&D in a food manufacturing environment with knowledge of food processing regulations (e.g., USDA, FDA)
