The Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Supervisor is a professional registered nurse responsible for all the quality activities of the home health agency.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the supervision and performance evaluation of QAPI personnel
  • The QAPI Supervisor has accountabilities for the monitoring, implementation and evaluation of process and programs to meet regulatory, accreditation and standards of practice
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the agency's quality improvement program
  • Ensures that there are processes in place to monitor and measure all activities related to performance improvement
  • Provides direction and coordination of quality activities utilizing continuous quality improvement principles and methodologies
  • Establishes a process model for improvement and provides education and training to organization personnel on the performance improvement plan and team development in collaboration with appropriate program stake holders
  • Responsible for ensuring processes to monitor and evaluate safety, risk management and infection control programs
  • Collaborates with Clinical Supervisors, Clinical Review Nurses, and home health leadership to provide a process to promote and ensure employee orientation, competency and in service education programs meet regulatory standards
  • Provides over site of report preparation and presentations
  • Identifies educational needs based on data outcomes and trends
  • Maintains routine review of high-risk indicators analyzes the causes and implements Performance Improvement Plans
  • Coordinates with home health staff for review of complaints, incidents, appeals, and state and federal surveys
