Job Description

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for continuous observation, assessment, and improvement of surgical services processes and practices. Works with leadership and staff to collaboratively identify and coordinate improvement opportunities within the department according to accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies. Supports and leads in pertinent related NWTHS programs and initiatives as assigned by the Director. Works with quality department as needed for reporting and data collection projects. Participates in elements of staff education; provides leadership for implementing Performance Improvement activities; and assists with compliance activities for all regulatory agencies. Participates in educational activities for the department. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.

Job Requirements

1.         Valid Texas professional nursing license, or other current pertinent registration

            2.         Bachelor of Science degree in health-related field required or acquired within three years

            3.         Experience in clinical monitoring programs required

  1. 3 years leadership experience required

  2. Appropriate clinical experience required

    6.         Strong verbal and written skills

                7.         Basic computer literacy

 

  1. Ability to read and write in English

  2. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others

  3. Ability to remain calm under stress

  4. Ability to respond to pages, telephones, and other auditory stimulation

  5. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions

  6. Bending, lifting (10-20 pounds), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling

  7. Ability to understand and interpret basic statistical and clinical reports

  8. Ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time
