A registered nurse or other qualified professional, who with minimal supervision reviews medical records and available databases; coordinates data collection processes; exhibits proficiency in data management; demonstrates knowledge of age specific processes of care; coordinates referrals when physician or departmental review is required; and provides leadership and consultative services for Performance Improvement activities; assists with compliance activities for all regulatory agencies.

1. An RN currently licensed by the State of Texas

2. Minimum of 2 years clinical experience

3. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical and trauma terminology, statistics and fundamentals of medicine and medical law in order to analyze statistical data, audit trauma codes, perform chart reviews and identify quality issues.

4. Mental/visual concentration necessary to examine charts, abstract data, audit trauma scores for accuracy, and generate statistical reports

5. Certification in TNCC and ENPC within 12 months after hire or as soon as class availability permits
