Frito-Lay, a key business unit within PepsiCo , is a market leader in the snack food industry. We are the makers of some of America's favorite snack foods including, FRITOS®, LAY'S®, DORITOS®, CHEETOS®, AND TOSTITOS®.

The Sanitation Manager is responsible for managing the Sanitation Team, the Food Safety Systems, and the Sanitation Budgets. The role includes management of twenty five to thirty full and part time employees across first and second shifts. The role has a site wide impact as the owner of Food Safety Systems. It is an excellent opportunity to gain experience managing budgets and cross departmental plans. The role typically works a Wednesday to Sunday work week, consistent with the Sanitation Team.

Description:

  • Lead a Supply Chain Sanitation team in the Manufacturing. Schedule may vary based on business needs (including possible night or evening shifts, weekends and holidays)
  • Lead team of 60 to 75 hourly associates with varying levels of experience and education
  • Responsible for people and team development, quality performance, cost, service and safety
  • Develop individuals and the team to solve operational issues
  • Motivate the team to achieve performance targets
  • Organize and facilitate team meetings to achieve continuous improvement process
  • Coach team members to use the process and facilitate problem solving on the floor
  • Job level will vary based on experience and scope of role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short & long term performance goals
  • Communicate cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues
  • Motivate team members to achieve plan goals
  • Organize and facilitate work team meetings (examples: pre-shift, roundtables, etc.)
  • Administer policies and practices. Initiate and implement projects
  • Conduct presentations and formal training programs
  • Improve team communication and engagement
  • Think quickly, creatively and challenge team to do the same


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree preferably in Business, Operations Management, or related major.
  • Knowledge of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is preferred. ​
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Highly motivated self starter
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment with the ability to make tradeoff decisions quickly
  • Ability to give/receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to lead a team based approach to decision making. Demonstrated ability to work in a results oriented, challenging environment
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
