Job Description

The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems.

The receptionist is responsible for greeting and assisting all visitors, answering the switchboard, completing and interpreting admission paperwork, processing discharges, processing patient property, processing incoming and outgoing mail and providing clerical support as requested. Additional duties include, log patient valuables, and register patient admissions, and maintain cash receipts log. Must be able to respond confidently in the event of a safety code and be comfortable with paging overhead.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: One (1) year experience in a health care environment on a multi-line telephone switchboard with any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital environment preferred. Additional Requirements: May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours. Must have working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, as well as demonstrate problem solving skills. Must enjoy working in a high volume customer service environment. Front Office experience working in a medical facility is a PLUS. This Per Diem position has limited hours available, which is perfect for a college student or anyone looking for flexibility and ideal for one to gain experience in a hospital facility.

Weekday and weekend shift flexibility is a must.
