Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is a 178-bed acute care facility located in Streamwood,IL and has been providing mental health treatment to the Chicagoland community and the state of Illinois since 1991. We are dedicated to offering services to meet the ever-changing emotional and behavioral healthcare needs of children, adolescents, and their families. 

SBHS has an Expressive Therapist position available.  The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:The Expressive Therapist functions as part of the multi-disciplinary team and is responsible for the leadership of therapeutic activity groups, both on the unit and off the unit. The position is responsible for assessing incoming consumers, planning groups and implementing groups, as well as documentation of the consumers specific to assigned unit. The Expressive Therapist is responsible for ordering materials as needed and maintaining an organized activity room,



Job Requirements

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Experience with adolescents/adults, preferably in an inpatient setting.  A Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field with an emphasis in art therapy, music therapy or movement therapy.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: registered art therapist (or eligible: or board certified music therapist (or eligible); or Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (or eligible).
