The Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta (LCCA) is a multi-discipline behavioral healthcare center that offers mental health services to the communities of surrounding Augusta, Georgia. LCCA currently has exciting opportunities for a Full Time CTRS Recreation Therapist to oversee the facilities therapeutic activities program.  The RT will work evenings and weekends as needed to ensure the program is appropriate to the needs and interest of patients and is directed toward restoring and maintaining optimal levels of physical and psychosocial functioning.  The Recreation Therapist will actively participate in treatment planning and implementing activity services for the inpatient population, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services.

Job Requirements

:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreational Therapy / Leisure Studies; a Certified Recreational Therapy Specialist (CTRS), or certification eligible Recreational Therapist.

  • Current, valid driver’s license in good standing

  • Must obtain CPR, Handle with Care, Verbal De-Escalation, and first aid Certification.  May be required to work overtime, flexible hours and weekend rotations.

  • Prefer at least one (1) year psychiatric experience with children or adolescents in an acute hospital or residential setting.
