Our Therapeutic Activities Department is seeking an energetic and experienced Recreation Therapist to work a per diem schedule mostly on weekends. The Recreation Therapist's responsibilities include planning and implementing recreational and leisure activities for an assigned program. This involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation and role modeling to patients.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, and/or Masters degree preferred in Recreation, Fine Art, Music, or Expressive Therapy.

Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with an understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure:  Certification, licensure, and/or Board Certification by state and/or national governing body in art therapy preferred.

Additional Requirements:  Successful completion of CPR Certification preferred and successful completion of Handle With Care prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 90 days of employment preferred.  May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
