Positions in this function are accountable for the provider adoption and utilization of the self-service applications located within Link. Responsible for being the subject matter expert, directing and implementing self-service strategies, and supporting both the UHN Advocates and their providers on the adoption and utilization of the applications. Tasks in this role include developing educational programs, training both internal and external customers, and gathering feedback from providers to help drive future enhancements. This individual will also be accountable for identifying gaps in provider adoption and utilization of the applications and assists in the development and implementation of strategies to fill these gaps. Traveling to provider expos and other provider site visits to help educate providers on the applications may be required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements

  • Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems

  • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses

  • Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks

  • Translates concepts into practice

  • Trains, coaches, provide feedback, and guide others

  • Acts as a resource for others with less experience

  • Must be collaborative and able to work across a matrix organization

  • Solid understanding of provider-facing functions including UHC Operations, UHN contracting and operations, UHC partner operations, i.e. Oxford, UHC C&S, UHC M&R, OptumRX, UHC West, Optum, etc.

  • Understanding of Practice Management Systems, billing companies and provider office administrative processes

  • Oversees the implementation and maintenance of post project scorecard activity

  • Adoption and utilization of the self-service applications located within Link

  • Analyze Provider network use of self-service applications located within Link based on defined access standards and targets set for each region.

  • Perform network analysis to identify potential strategic opportunities to increase and maintain usage(e.g., review Tableau and MBO reports; review portal usage)

  • Conduct adoption activities (e.g., trainings, mailings; calls; follow-up documentation) with targeted providers to solicit participation

  • Summarize and communicate provider network outcomes (e.g., adoption and/or utilization) to internal and external stakeholders

  • Build/sustain effective relationships with Advocates and providers to maintain open lines of communication and ensure our awareness of their needs

  • Support adoption and utilization efforts by identifying and/or implementing improvement opportunities to provider services

  • Respond to Advocates and providers’ requests by directing them to appropriate internal or external resources

  • Solicit provider informal and formal feedback via surveys, complaints and conversations in order to develop action plans (e.g., corrective actions; suggestions to leadership; complaint resolution process)

  • Educate internal and external audiences on self-service tools

  • Communicate and advocate providers' needs to internal stakeholders in order to drive creation of solutions that meet our mutual business goals

  • Develop resources and programs to assist and educate providers (e.g., web-based and in-person trainings; FAQ documents; presentation decks)

  • Assess provider understanding and needs related to industry and company information, tools, systems, and changes

  • Assist internal teams on toolkits and resources

  • Promote testing of certification process for UHN SMEs

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent years of work experience

  • 5+ years of healthcare industry experience

  • Previous experience in managing multiple projects

  • Previous experience with Link Self Service Tools

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS PowerPoint

  • Experience in Provider Network communications, collateral, and interactions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree strongly preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in Project Management

  • Process improvement or Black Belt experienced
