Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a full time Registered Dietitian to come join their dynamic team at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System, an 81 bed acute care regional healthcare facility, located in Watertown, South Dakota.
 
Position will report to the Clinical Nutrition Manger and the ideal candidate will:
  • Be an RD with at least 1 year of acute care experience, will consider RD eligible
  • Work directly and independently to mainly provide nutrition care for inpatients with a variety of disease states
  • Provide services for patients seen by our in-house specialty physicians including Cardiologists, Nephrologist, Pulmonologist, Oncologist and Urologist
  • Counseling outpatients using Medical Nutrition Therapy
  • Lead our Sodexo weight management program
  • Be proficient in using the Nutrition Care Process and experience with electronic charting is desired
  • Possess strong clinical, critical thinking, verbal and written skills
  • Be a self-directed, team player, with demonstrated strong communication skills with physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff, and the ability to build client relationships
  • Position will require working on-call weekend and holidays as scheduled
  • Participate in department performance improvement initiatives, education of staff and hospital employees and participation in community events
  • Maintain continuing education requirements as outlined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition services
Key Duties
-Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience -  Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
