Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Part-Time NICU Registered Dietitian (1-2 years’ experience) to come join their dynamic clinical team at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, CA. Hoag Memorial Hospital is a 411-bed hospital located between two campuses.

 

 

Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager: The ideal candidate will:

 

  • Be a registered Dietitian with at least 1 year of experience in an acute care setting, NICU experience is preferred
  • Have experience with EMR documentation, according to current standards.
  • Have the Responsibility for a variety of patient units and the primary Nutrition Care for both in and outpatient as needed
  • Be involved in monthly team meetings with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Have experience with Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) guidelines, regulatory standards, and evidence-based medicine the clinical registered dietitian (RD)/Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) Dietitian assesses and documents patient's nutritional needs based on pre-collected screening risk data by Nursing, or RD, implements care plans and counsels patients (and family members) utilizing standard protocols, and may act as clinical instructor for dietetic interns.
  • Project an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct.
  • Support the department mission. May participate in the continuous quality improvement process. Maintains a working knowledge of the departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Have knowledge that includes the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventive maintenance.
  • Display and practice a work-style that reflects the mission, vision and values of the department and hospital. Participate in the continuous quality improvement (CQI) process. Maintain a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Require travel between various Hoag locations and its affiliates if needed.
  • Work with the Clinical Nutrition Manager and other Sodexo Management team to provide exemplary care to patients, staff and community.
  • Active collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and in area, unit and clinical program meetings, committees and other relevant activities.
  • Act as a community and clinical educator performing presentations on nutrition topics as requested.
  • Acts as a preceptor for new hires, interns and peers according to established guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct comprehensive nutrition services
Key Duties
-Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
