Sodexo is seeking a Full Time Registered Dietitian preferrably with 1-2 years of experience as a Clinical Dietitian for Washington Adventist hospital, located in Takoma Park, MD (Baltimore, Washington DC Metro area) a 250 bed community acute care hospital with a 34 bed Rehabilitation unit. The hospital is a member of the Adventist Health Care system. The hospital serves a wide variety of inpatient care units, including 2 ICU's (neuro-ICU, CVICU), specializing in cardiac/stroke/oncology treatment. 


This position will be responsible for supporting Medical Nutrition Therapy and function as a lead dietitian when needed.  


This Dietitian is responsible for providing Medical Nutrition Therapy for patients in med/ surg including ortho, cardiac,diabetes, renal and geriatric population. 

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience as a Registered dietitian in acute care Responsibilities include inpatient nutrition care as needed for the general population of the facility.
  • The selected candidate will also possess the ability to creatively problem solve, work independently with minimal supervision and make decisions while working within a self-directed and team-oriented work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups, excellent time management and organizational skills are needed to be successful in this position.
  • Licensure is required

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct comprehensive nutrition services
Key Duties
-Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
