Sodexo is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to come join their team at White Plains Hospital. This progressive community hospital has 292 beds.

If you are a Registered Dietitian looking gain exceptional clinical experience in an environment that fosters learning and development, this may be the job for you. You will provide medical nutrition therapy to a variety of patient population and disease states while sharing your knowledge and recommendations as a part of multidisciplinary team.  You will also participate in direct and indirect patient care such as PI projects; participate on interdisciplinary committees and in community events.    


We are looking for candidates who will:


  • Work as part of a 3 RD team as the team lead to provide nutritional care to acute care patients.
  • Primarily be responsible for both critical care and medical/surgical units.
  • Be a Registered Dietitian and licensed in NY or eligible for RD certification.
  • Have experience with electronic charting and the NCP.
  • Have experience managing parenteral and enteral feedings
  • Experience with data collection and analysis for Performance Improvement activities
  • Managing projects
  • Work every 3rd weekend providing hospital wide clinical coverage
  • Conduct in-services for food service staff & nursing.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Participate in community outreach events.

 The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • familiarity with the Nutrition Care Process and Electronic Health Records is preferred at the unit;
  • strong comprehension of the principles of clinical nutrition practice;
  • a Registered Dietitian, eligible for licensure in the state if applicable; and
  • the ability to meet DOH/state/federal and company standards.

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct comprehensive nutrition services
Key Duties
-Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
