Sodexo is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to come join the clinical team at New York-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital. Located in the affluent Bronxville area, New York-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital is a 292 bed acute care facility with a long and important history of providing superior healthcare to the residents of Southern Westchester County and its surrounding communities for over 100 years.

Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, this Registered Dietitian will:

  • Be a Registered Dietitian with a minimum of 2+ years’ acute care experience, critical care experience necessary
  • Have CNSC certification or be willing to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Provide exceptional nutrition care to patients in ICU, Oncology along with cross coverage in Pediatrics, Maternity and Med/Surg
  • Have experience with EMR, diet office computer systems such as CBORD and the Nutrition Care Process
  • Participate in various PI projects i.e. meal rounds, hand hygiene tracers & others as assigned by CNM
  • Provide education to staff and participate in community wellness events
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a self-starter, a team player, and possess good time management skills
  • Precept dietetic interns

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct comprehensive nutrition services including those for complex needs.
Key Duties
-Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., -HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments. .


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
