Millwood Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Licensed RN. RNs at Millwood Hospital  provide nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy of Millwood and the ANA Standards Of Psychiatric Nursing. Utilizing the Nursing Process, our RNs coordinate the care of patients assuring continuity of care and a safe therapeutic milieu. RNs are an essential member of the multidisciplinary team and are responsible for supervision of unlicensed nursing staff.

The key duties of the Registered Nurse is accountability for assigned nursing care activities and responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit and may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as necessary. The successful experienced individual must be able to demonstrate the competency, knowledge, skill, and flexibility to provide patient care to a varied population of adults, including seniors, dual diagnosed patients and those co-occurring medical diagnosis.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.. 

Experience:  A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred..

Licensure:  Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements:  CPR certification and training in appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint (CPI) before on the unit orientation and prior to assisting in a restraining process. Must pass a medication administration exam and complete a basic developmental competency exam.
