Garland Behavioral Hospital (GBH) is a 72-bed facility located inside Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Garland. We provide a broad range of services for Adult Psychiatric conditions.

Garland Behavioral Hospital is seeking a talented and dynamic  Registered Nurse ( RN) to join our team in developing quality services that serve Garland and surrounding communities. RNs at GBH provide nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy of GBH and the ANA Standards Of Psychiatric Nursing. Utilizing the Nursing Process, our RNs coordinate the care of patients assuring continuity of care and a safe therapeutic milieu. RNs are an essential member of the multidisciplinary team and are responsible for supervision of unlicensed nursing staff.

The key duties of the Registered Nurse is accountability for assigned nursing care activities and responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit and may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as necessary. The successful experienced individual must be able to demonstrate the competency, knowledge, skill, and flexibility to provide patient care to a varied population of adults, including seniors, dual diagnosed patients and those co-occurring medical diagnosis.

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred

Licensure: Licensure and registration by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners

Credentials:  BLS -Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare professionals

                      Handle With Care and Verbal De-escalation may be obtained during new hire orientation
