Position Summary:

Fairfax Behavioral Health is a 221 licensed bed facility providing psychiatric and dual disorders treatment for adolescents and adults as well as three alternative school programs and CD services. The hospital is located in a quiet residential neighborhood on the Eastside of Seattle.

The Staff Nurse (R.N) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. The Staff Nurse (R.N) must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served. The Staff Nurse (R.N) has supervisory responsibilities for Program Specialists.   Per Diem positions are available on all three shifts.  PRN requires compliance with a minimum of six shifts per month including one weekend and/or two night shifts. 


Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.  Leadership experience as a Staff Nurse is needed for this position.  Currently licensed to practice by the WA State Board of Nursing. Currently licensed to drive with a valid driver's license.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification; appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint, must pass a medication administration exam and complete a basic developmental competency exam as well as complete Handle with Care, De-Escalation training and age specific training within 30 days of employment.
