Newport News Behavioral Health Center has an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to work an evening shift from 7pm to 7am to join our team of dedicated professionals.


The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: • Plan, assign, supervise and evaluate nursing care to include management of the milieu. • In the absence of DON, assist in expediting the administrative departmental duties and/or responsibilities in conjunction with the CEO • Assist in expediting daily departmental operations as assigned by the DON and/or CEO • Assist in generating monthly nursing schedules as well as daily review and/or adjustments of nurse staffing needs to ensure adequate nursing staff/client ratio. • Assist staff in the implementation and completion of daily departmental nursing functions. • Ongoing collaboration with Department Directors and/or other facility designated disciplines to ensure proper medical/technical operations. • Attends designated administrative and departmental meetings to discuss daily happenings of the facility. Is able to help create a Plan of Action and follow through on assigned individual and/or team task.

Job Requirements

Current RN licensure.  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  Experience in Psychiatric Nursing desirable.  Preferred 1 year experience working and/or treating adolescents.  Able to communicate effectively in English through written and verbal means.  Ability to effectively supervise and/or direct the implementation of individualized nursing care.  Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluation of situations and/or making nursing decisions.
