Specialty Benefits administers the Dental, Vision and Financial Protection products across the nation.   We are currently recruiting for an Accounting Analyst to join our team.  The successful candidate will have technical curiosities, and be excited by process improvement and intellectual challenges.  You must love problem solving, and be eager to learn what drives our business and industry.

 

As an accounting analyst, you will support all Specialty business segments in analyzing performance, explaining fluctuations, and ensuring accuracy of financial data.  Some of the detailed responsibilities are:

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support preparation of annual healthcare reform related filings in collaboration with the accounting and the regulatory reporting teams

     

  • Prepare timely and accurate TPA (Third Party Administrator) filings by collecting and compiling financial and statistical data from various sources.  Lead communication related to regulatory filing status and deliverables to management and senior leaders 

     

  • Collaborate with accounting teams for quarterly analytical package preparation. Review work performed by others. Facilitate quarterly financial statements review meetings with the controllership and the regulatory reporting teams and share key financial highlights

     

  •  Support external audits and internal controls assessment projects. Prepare audit related deliverables and review work performed by others in support of external audits

     

  • Support monthly close process by reviewing key financial statements, control analytics and trends, identify potential issues and collaborate with the accounting teams for timely explanations

     

  • Review Specialty’s inter-segment accounting control analytics, identify discrepancies and hold monthly meeting with the inter-segment accounting teams to coordinate resolution
