Description

NextGear Capital, a Cox Automotive brand, is seeking a Release Train Engineer with Agile Methodolgoy experience to join our Technology Team located just outside of Indianapolis in Carmel, Indiana.

Job Summary
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) facilitates the Agile Release Train (ART) processes and program execution. They escalate impediments, manage risk, and help drive program-level continuous improvement. The RTE is responsible for facilitating program events including PI planning workshop, Inspect & Adapt workshops, Program Leadership Team Meetings, and the Scrum of Scrums.

Technology We Use: Agile/Scrum, C#, WinForms, Java, JavaScript, PostgreSQL 9+, MVC frameworks, Java Spring, JUnit, Protractor and Karma testing libraries.

Responsibilities
  • Manages programs to align them to value delivered to the business
  • Coordinates program increment (PI) planning workshops
  • Collaborates with the program leadership team to prioritize and manage program backlogs
  • Communicates program plans and progress to broad stakeholder audiences
  • Aggregates team objectives into Program PI Objectives and publishes for visibility and transparency
  • Ensure value delivered by a program is tracked through metrics
  • Assists with program execution and PI feature completion tracking
  • Provides visibility into program health, progress, and impediments
  • Regularly inspects the program process to discover and address the major concerns
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties and/or vendors
  • Drives program-level continuous improvement via retrospectives and Inspect and Adapt workshops
  • Coaches and mentors others on team and program level Quality Practices and Communities of Practice around SAFe, Scrum, and Agile program management
  • Facilitates PI planning readiness; Vision, backlogs and facilities
  • Facilitates program-level agile ceremonies
  • Tracks and resolves escalated risks and dependencies, coordinates resolution with technology leadership
  • Maintains proper communication with all the technical and non-technical teams involved
  • Provides input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Fosters the preparation of vision and backlogs to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Establishes, tracks, and manages program budgets
  • Creates, maintains, and publishes PI calendar in collaboration with peers


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of application development, processes, trends and best practices
  • Knowledgeable in agile methodology and techniques (i.e. Kanban, Scrum, PI planning etc.)
  • 5+ years of previous project management and/or Agile experience 
  • 1+ years of previous experience as a ScrumMaster preferred
  • Experience with various project management tools and techniques
  • Risk management, strategic planning, and change management experience
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, presentation, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Some travel may be required (less than 5%)
