Description **ROLE SUMMARY**

We are seeking an energetic and motivated research associate with experience in in vivo pharmacology to join our Rinat Research Unit in South San Francisco and to contribute to exciting Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cell research and T cell redirection approaches in general. The successful applicant will be an integral part of a research team evaluating T cell therapies and bispecific antibodies for the treatment of cancer. They should express a keen interest in developing novel therapies and have a demonstrated record of conducting in vivo research.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



+ Contribute to discovery projects for CAR T cell and bispecific antibody therapeutics by conducting in vivo efficacy studies utilizing human and mouse cancer models.

+ Use standard tissue culture to support cancer cell and human T cell preparation for in vivo studies.

+ Use standard immunology techniques such as flow cytometry to support ex vivo analysis of cells from animal tissues.

+ Analyze, organize, and present results in small and large group meetings.

+ Read relevant scientific literature to aid in experimental design.

+ Contribute to a dynamic, exciting culture that embraces teamwork and innovation.



**QUALIFICATIONS**



+ B.S. degree in Biology with 4+ years' experience, or M.S. degree in biology with 2+ years' experience.

+ Biology degree specializing in molecular biology, cellular biology, or immunology preferred.

+ Prior experience in the fields of immunology or cancer biology highly preferred.

+ Hands-on experience with in vivo work required. Tumor inoculation and measurement, animal dosing (oral, s.c. and i.v.), blood and tissue collection, is strongly preferred.

+ Proficiency in immunological assays, including flow cytometry, cytokine release, cytotoxicity and proliferation assays, T cell isolation, MACS, is a plus.

+ Demonstrated proficiency in the use of software tools to support data analysis tasks (e.g., Prism, FlowJo, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

+ Must have excellent organization and planning skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as part of a team, good verbal and written communication, and strong motivation with a dedicated work ethic.

+ A willingness to learn and adopt new experimental skills as needed is essential.

Mental - ability to perform complex data analysis, ability to read and critically evaluate literature/publications to aid in experimental design
