Havenwyck Hospital is a 235 bed, Joint Commission accredited and licensed psychiatric and substance abuse facility overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing behavioral health and substance abuse services to children, adolescents, and adults. Havenwyck Hospital has an excellent career opportunity for a Residential Care Specialist (RCS) to join our Impulse Disorder Residential Treatment Center. The RCS performs routine residential care duties and selected non-professional services under the supervision of the Director of Residential Services and RCS Supervisor. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Provide care to children/adolescents in a manner that considers safety, residents’ rights and comfort.
  • Assist with resident admissions, discharges and transfers.
  • Continuously observe resident behavior, mental status and activities and reports this information to the appropriate clinical staff.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living and encourages independent behavior.
  • Participate in the implementation of the resident’s individualized plan of care.
  • Treat all residents and staff with dignity and respect.
  • Represent the facility in a manner that conveys a professional, courteous, caring and cooperative attitude.

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Two years of college in the areas of psychology, social work, mental health, or related health fields preferred.
  • One year experience in the mental health field or other related health care experience preferred.
  • Provision of satisfactory motor vehicle operation report required.< /div>
  • Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc) to be considered for internal transfers.
