What we are looking for:

 

La Paloma Treatment Center is currently seeking a Residential Counselor, to monitor, support, and provide outstanding care for our clients. The ideal candidate will have the ability to inspire our client’s confidence in both our staff, and the FRN Model of Treatment. The Residential Counselor will be a key role in providing daily encouragement to our clients, while also serving as a listening ear and a safe place, as they work through the difficult steps of breaking free from addiction.

Do you want to be part of a team of highly skilled individuals, driven by the goal of helping others through life-changing recovery? Do you have the desire to serve as a Brand Ambassador to FRN? IF so, then this could be the opportunity you’ve been searching for! This position is located at Foundations Recovery Network’s residential treatment facility, The Oaks at La Paloma, in Memphis, Tennessee.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Ensures program schedule is maintained
  • Observes patient behavior and documents using Patient Status Notes/Observation Log
  • Utilizes TIER and enters notes
  • Utilizes motivational interviewing and patient-centered techniques when assisting patients
  • Provides empathetic, supportive approach to all client interactions by acting as a sounding board for the individual
  • Conducts orientation of new patients
  • Monitors resident computer and telephone usage
  • Conducts psycho-educational groups, upon completing proper training
  • Employs de-escalation techniques, as confrontation is not used
  • Utilizes local crisis response team in case of emergency psychiatric emergency (i.e. suicidal/homicidal ideation or threats) 
  • Conducts safety drills according to FRN Safety Standards

Participates in training and meets FRN and licensure expectations related to training.

Job Requirements

::

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 1 year healthcare experience required. Experience in behavioral health preferred.

  • CPR certification

  • Ability to pass employer’s MVR check in order to be added to insurance carrier.
