Corona Regional Medical Center is a 240-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and an 80-bed rehabilitation hospital. Corona Regional Medical Center currently has aRespiratory Care Practitionerposition available.The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: Reporting to the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor this position provides respiratory therapy which includes assessment, treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation including ABG lab procedures, puncture and analysis and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. Provides consultation, instruction, and/or technical direction to medical, nursing, and other staff members. Does limited cardiology diagnostic procedures.

Demonstrates/verbalizes understanding of Mechanical Ventilation and demonstrates proper use of all departmental Mechanical Ventilators.

Charts in a timely manner.  Ensures all required demographic and clinical data are present and accurate..

Ensures all billing is completed by end of the shift, as applicable.  Ensures the patient record accurately reflects all billable procedures and treatments.

Conducts himself/herself in a Professional manner at all times.

Appropriately communicates all issues, concerns or problems to the supervisor or department Manager/Director in a timely and appropriate manner.

Performs Arterial Blood Gas Testing per hospital policy and procedures.

Other key responsibilities: Medicated Nebulizer, Oxygen therapy, Chest-Physio Therapy, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, including: chest compression, manual ventilation, airway care, Tracheostomy changes and other duties as assigned by department Manager/Director or Supervisor.

Identify areas of concern to supervisor or department manager. 

Adheres to the facilitates Medication Safety Plan.

Acts as a Preceptor for new Healthcare Team members or Student Therapist if asked.

Accountable for own conduct and independent decisions made in the course of job performance.

Serves as a technical and clinical resource for physicians and clinical staff.

Maintains a high standards of care.  Must be flexible, dependable and respectful, act and dress in a professional manner, adjust to new concepts and ideas and have good communication skills.

Knowledge of current respiratory care practice.

Evaluates treatment objectives and patient responses, monitors progress and discusses with health care team.

Documents all patients care procedures.

Demonstrates or Verbalizes understanding of Age-Specific Care Assists in maintaining the department and storage areas in a neat and orderly condition

Job Requirements

REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Graduate from an AMA/CoARC approved program to train respiratory care practitioners.
  • Associates degree in Respiratory Care required.
  • Certification by the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
  • Active Credential as a CRT by the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care).
  • RRT Credential preferred.  Current BLS (AHA) required.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 1 year experience in critical care required.
