Sodexo is looking for a Retail Manager 2 for St. Barnabas Health System in Bronx, NY

 

As the Retail Manager you will manage catering, a small gift shop and employee / visitor cafeteria.

The combined sales total approx.1.6 million. The Retail Manager will work every other weekend and have patient services responsibilities on weekends and holidays. This is a great opportunity to showcase marketing skills and develop a strong Sodexo retail program. Strong communication and customer service skills a must.

The ideal candidate:

The successful candidate will also be involved in the management and training of staff, signage of the cafe and gift shop, cash management and food quality.  Must have strong customer service skills.

St Barnabas Hospital, originally known as the Home for the Incurables, is a non-profit hospital founded in 1866. The hospital is located in the Belmont neighborhood of The Bronx in New York City. The hospital is a level 2 adult trauma center.

The hospital was founded by Reverend Washington Rodman, of the Grace Episcopal Church in West Farms, Bronx.[3] The hospital moved to its present location on Third Avenue in 1874.[4] In 1947 the hospital changed its name to St Barnabas Hospital.[5]

St Barnabas Nursing Home was founded in 1972, and is located on the hospital's campus at 2175 Quarry Rd.[6]

The hospital is the primary clinical affiliate of the CUNY School of Medicine.[7][8] In addition, the hospital is a clinical affiliate to the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Position Summary

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly & supervisory food service workers.
Key Duties
- Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.
- Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.
- Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.
- Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.
- Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.
- Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers. 
 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
