Sodexo's universities segment has a fantastic opportunity for a Retail Manager 2 at Carthage College, a 4-year private college located in Kenosha, WI. Carthage's beautiful campus on the shore of Lake Michigan is home to 2600 full-time undergraduate students. We offer Food operations to include resident dining, retail food operations and catering. 


Retail makes up 60% of our business at this large account.  Reporting to our talented Retail Operations Manager, this Retail Manager 2 will have a dotted line relationship with a second Retail Manager 2 to oversee 2nd-shift operations (2PM -10PM) during the school year.  There are eight concepts including (national brands) Starbucks, Baja Fresh, Einstein’s, Freshens, World of Wings (WoW) and Seattle’s Best as well as (Sodexo brands) Sub Connections and Red Zone C-Store.  Summers offer a day hours schedule.


The ideal candidate will have the following preferred qualifications/experience:


  • Food management experience, preferably within a retail dining/fast-casual setting;
  • Previous cash handling experience;
  • Ability to uphold food safety, sanitation and overall workplace standards;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Experience in marketing/driving customer sales and customer satisfaction.

Position Summary

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly & supervisory food service workers.
Key Duties
- Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.
- Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.
- Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.
- Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.
- Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.
- Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers. 



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
