Sodexo is seeking an experienced Food Retail Manager to join our highly skilled team at Loyola Marymount University in sunny Los Angeles CA.  LMU is a prestigious showcase venue in dining.  Managing a uniquely styled restaurant & outdoor sports venue operation, this successful Retail Manager will be joining a team of talented professionals in a very fast paced & high energy environment.  Beginning fall 2018, this operation will transform to a popular National Brand operation and have increased volume.  This position is a very "hands on" role - interacting and coordinating with BOH staff as well, flexibility with schedule is important.


The Retail Manager will lead, train, support & develop a diverse team, while ensuring to uphold corporate standards, sustainability initiatives & customer service excellence.  This Retail Manager will be responsible for financials, cost controls, ordering and receiving, interviewing / hiring/training / scheduling hourly staff.


The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous Sodexo retail management experience in a high-volume environment, familiar with Sodexo systems and  processes. OR 2 - 4 years management experience in a large restaurant, QSR or franchise w/multiple venues.
  • Have cash handling management experience
  • Have strong organizational skills – be a “Go-Getter” attitude and be able to handle the fast-paced environment of a large food service operation.
  • Be a visionary – always thinking towards the future: what can we do different next semester, next spring… while handling the day to day food retail operations
  • Have a strong hospitality focus - be engaged and interacting with our clients, students, faculty and employees.

Position Summary

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly & supervisory food service workers.
Key Duties
- Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.
- Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.
- Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.
- Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.
- Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.
- Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers. 



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
