The Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst supports revenue cycle applications related to institutional and professional claim submissions, remittance processing, and payment posting.  Provides timely issue resolution for UHS Acute Care facilities and the CBO's with their operational needs.  Partners with internal customers, clearinghouses, payers, vendors and other external customers in resolving submission and processing issues.

Essential Job Duties 

  • Utilizes knowledge of Revenue Cycle flow from Patient Access through Patient Accounting including master system files and profiles to coordinate appropriate workflow and processes.
  • Maintains Patient Accounting system master files, profiles, and revenue cycle systems for users as requested and assigned via requests, tickets and governmental updates.
  • Performs file reconciliation between Patient Accounting, Claims Management, and Remittance processing systems.
  • Assists with revenue cycle initiatives to increase efficiencies and maximum cash flow opportunities and partners with facilities, CBOs other revenue cycle areas in diverse geographic areas in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Monitors and analyzes claim edits and rejections and identifies improvement tactics that meet or exceed industry KPI standards.
  • Reviews payer and regulation updates.
  • Monitors and analyzes unbilled claim volume and collaborates with CBOs to ensure volume is within company and industry standards.


Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience.

  • Exposure to change, portfolio and project management.
  • Experience with system implementations.
  • Experience in supporting Revenue Cycle Applications.
  • Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding.
  • Strong knowledge of EDI healthcare transactions sets such as 997/999, 276/277CA, 835 and 837 transactions.
  • Experience with EDI and ERA payer enrollments.
  • Strong knowledge of UB04 and CMS 1500 form layouts.
  • Experience with claim scrubber bridge routines and analyzing claim scrubber edits and rejections.
  • Experience with data mining extraction and data visualization tools and experience in working with large data sets.
  • Experience in presenting information in-person and through web tools to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with Cerner Invision, Cerner Millennium, and nThrive/MedAssets Claims Management system preferred.
  • Travel Requirements are approximately 15%
