The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization is responsible for ensuring that Prudential has a comprehensive framework for understanding the risks embedded in and across its businesses, so that the company can manage these risks effectively, evaluate current and future risk challenges and opportunities, and enhance shareholder value.  Risk management is evolving as a critical and value-added component of any financial services company.   Prudential’s ERM program has a strong foundation and is looking for talent to help drive it further with energy and enthusiasm by bringing creative but controlled design, implementation ideas, and execution. This is a fast-paced environment guided by changing external regulation and emerging internal policies.
Associate will be part of the team responsible for measuring and managing insurance risk such as longevity/mortality, morbidity and policyholder efficiency. The associate will also work across ERM as well as with other business units and corporate functions such as IT, Actuarial, Finance, Treasurers, etc

Build, test and maintain local SQL Server database and associated Excel tools
Work closely with IT and other risk areas to continue to build out and enhance production calculation processes and Tableau reporting environment

Provide support in executing repeating processes and satisfying ad hoc and special requests
Work with internal audit and Model Risk Management to ensure model control compliance

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or related fields
  • Actuarial and/or risk management experience a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and VBA; experience with database systems and SQL; experience with business intelligence packages and Tableau a plus
  • Ability to build comprehensive and detailed business requirements and build and execute related test plans
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and through changing requirements and priorities while maintaining a positive and can do attitude
