Position Summary:

The George Washington University Hospital (GW Hospital) is a 385-bed tertiary care, academic medical center located in downtown Washington, DC, next to the Foggy Bottom metro. The GWUH Bridge Program is designed to provide an opportunity for the experienced med/surg nurses to gain the skills, competency and knowledge to practice in the critical care areas (ICU, ED, PACU) of the hospital. This eleven (11) week program is a combination of classroom (didactic) and clinical time with a preceptor.

Completed applications for this position will be evaluated by a nurse recruiter and considered for Critical Care RN Bridge opportunities.

Qualifications include:


Must have a minimum of  24  months of nursing experience (if not, then this candidate should be in the Internship)

Must be in good standing, i.e., no written discipline (including time and attendance) within the previous 12 months

Last performance rating must be a ‘Meets’ or above (for internal transfer). Must meet all GWUH nursing qualifications (as defined by HR) [ex. CPR, DC RN license, etc.] 

Candidates must also agree to a 24 month, full time, work commitment
