About Summerlin Hospital:
Summerlin Hospital is a 454-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children’s Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women’s health and oncology care. Summerlin Hospital is an accredited Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center, and has received multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get With the Guidelines program.

Job Description:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist II acts as an expert clinician, educator, consultant and researcher. In collaboration with nursing & medical staff, the CNS II monitors the clinical care of patients and provides clinical support to improve patient care and patient outcomes.

Job Requirements

Education:         
Master of Science in Nursing in area of specialization.

Experience:       
Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience; demonstrated experience in clinical program development, outcomes management, and teaching. 

License/Certification:   

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada.  Current BLS Certification.  Meet the eligibility requirements for licensure by the State of Nevada in Advanced Practitioner of Nursing (APN)or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) except for sponsoring physician requirement.    Advance Lifesaving Certification dependent on speciality area (ACLS/PALS/NRP).  Current Certification in area of specialization required, Examples include: CPNP (Certified Pediatric Nurse Practioner), ACNP (Acute Care Nurse Practioner) and AHCNS (Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist), etc.

Other:
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.

Testing:
Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
