Job Description
The RN assumes the responsibility and accountability for providing safe and competent direct and indirect patient care for Medical/Surgical patients (focus on Orthopedics) in accordance with Lakewood Ranch Medical Center policies, standards and philosophy and provides professional leadership and support to health team members. Responsible for integrating nursing theory into practice using the nursing process. Uses excellent verbal and written communication skills to problem solve and work effectively with patients, families, staff and physicians. Plans and organizes patient care activities. Functions independently and in a team. Other duties as assigned. This is a 21 bed orthopedic and spine unit Large volume of total joint replacement and spinal procedure patients, but we also take med/surg overflow. The unit is a high amenities unit and we strive to deliver the highest quality orthopedic and spine care in the area. Ideal candidate has tele and ortho experience, butwe arewilling to train the orthopedic aspect for the right person. Must possess outstanding customer service skills and be able to add to a strong culture of team work. Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, the hospital centered on your care, opened September 1, 2004.
