Job Description

Completes nursing assessments within the specified time frame for the planning, implementation and evaluating of patients within the scope of practice. Process physician orders in a timely and accurate manner. Administer medications in an accurate manner consistent with policy and good nursing practice. Develops individual treatment plans based on Nursing Diagnosis and patient history. Intervenes with patients individually and in a group. Documents patient status and care provided in a through and timely manner. Responds appropriately to emergency situations. Facilitates and leads patient and family education and activity groups effectively. Completes admission and discharge process thoroughly and in a timely manner. Monitors the milieu for potential safety hazards and addresses issues appropriately. Audits the medical records and alerts staff of any discrepancies, monitors timeliness and thoroughness of the medical record documentation in accordance with regulatory standards. Demonstrates competent patient care based on knowledge of psychiatric and CD Disorders, as well as growth and development for all age groups. All staff at Prairie St. John's may be required to work in different areas/units and varying shifts depending on the business needs to the facility.

Job Requirements

Eligible for licensure as an RN in North Dakota. Knowledgeable of and follow the Nurse Practice Act. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; able to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations; make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances; and after training, be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients; smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks. Communicate in a professional manner in both verbal and written format. Able to use Microsoft Office products.
