What You'll Do

The Advanced Services Cloud and Networking Services Innovation and Delivery Team works on creating unique solutions to help drive customer outcomes through the use and integration of Cisco's infrastructure portfolio. Our work enables also next generation service provider global networks. We allow our customers to innovate through software and virtualization and enables application centric intelligence together with them.

Who You'll Work With

You will spend most of your work-time on-site at the customer (O2) in Prague, Czech Republic. You will join a diverse and dynamic team of inspired and motivated engineers located in different European countries. Our customers are in enterprise, service provider and public sector, and we have to deal with the different requirements which are specific for their business area. Every engagement is unique and you have the chance to deal with this versatility, improve your skills and grow with the challenges.

Who You Are

In that role you are involved in high-touch technical consulting roles with your customers, you demonstrate deep technical capability, together with the ability to fully understand all aspects of a customer's technical and business environment. Your responsibilities include:

  • Creation and analysis of most complex network designs and diagnosis of networking problems.
  • Act as the technical specialist and lead for most complex deployments including also on-site activities at the customers.
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to fully understand your customer's overall technical and business needs.
  • Expertise in business case analysis, executive summaries and similar, enabling you to develop and deliver compelling executive presentations.
  • Besides the on-site role at the customer you must also collaborate with our local account and service delivery teams and join meetings with them in the Cisco office in Prague as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Your work location is in Prague and you must be able to work at the customer's site in Prague on a daily basis.
  • Typically requires BS, CS, University degree or equivalent plus 5+ years experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment.
  • Good knowledge of Cisco product lines, supported technology and networking solutions.
  • Broad technical knowledge of IP networking, data center solutions, virtualization concepts and cloud and its components: Applications, Storage, Network, Server and projects surrounding their planning, design, implementation, operation, and optimisation.
  • Expert level knowledge in SP technologies including core routing and switching, multicast, IOS XR, and troubleshooting in multi-vendor-environments. This includes the following technologies and Cisco platforms in particular:
  1. Core technologies: ISIS, MP-BGP (including eBGPv4-LU as we live in MPLS CsC setup), L2VPN(VPWS), L3VPN, SM/SSM multicast, legacy GRE based mVPN, Netflow, BNG (PPPoE without ISG).
  2. Edge technologies: OSPF, EIGRP, DMVPN, IPSec, L2TP, Nexus7k/Nexus5k with VPC+ and FabricPath in 02 DCs
  3. Platforms: 7600/ES+, ASR9k, CRS, ASR1 k, ASR903/920, Cat6500 (Sup720, Sup2T, Sup6T), basic understanding of ASA firewalls
  • Fluent language skill in Czech and English in speaking and writing are required.

  • Client-facing skills to include cross-functional influence, external and internal consulting/partnering.
  • High-level, out-of-the-box thinking, analytical reasoning, creative problem solving skills paired realistic and pragmatic execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to communicate technology strategy and architecture approach to engineers, executives and senior management at the customer and inside Cisco.
  • Technology leadership skills to include coaching/mentoring, critical thinking/judgment, facilitation, leading change, and team development.
  • Willingness and ability to work with teams, ability to build relationships using an open and respectful communication and collaboration style.
  • Cross-functional contribution and impact with development engineering on product development and serviceability design.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification in at least one track relevant for the unified infrastructure area is a plus.
