What You'll Do 

This position requires a strong aptitude for identifying, understanding customer business needs and for building relationships with primary influencers in the purchasing decision process. An ability to understand and work with organizations at all levels is essential. You have extensive client-side experience and industry experience in a similar role, and is comfortable with developing mid- and long-term strategy, incorporating into the Account Plan, budgeting and other business needs. With regards to operational responsibilities, the BDM will track strategic deals sales pipeline, actual results and perform action to secure quarterly sales goals. You must be able to monitor and measure addressable market potential for the range of Cisco Solution offerings, track Cisco market share and progress in achieving the defined goals, He or she will be keeping track of the key opportunities and actively participating on execution of the opportunities, support the sales teams in converting large business opportunities into real sales revenue.

A crucial part of the BDM job role is to become a recognized leader and a trusted advisor of Cisco Sales practices in APJ. In the sales-enabling role, the BDM should engage in bringing relevant best practices, market and services knowledge and drive the sales education relevant to Cisco solutions. On the external front the BDM must become a recognized speaker with regards to Cisco’s sales strategy, effectively communicate benefits, clearly explain the value proposition of Cisco service solutions to the broad market, and drive key industry, partner and customer relations. He or she must be able to apply and clearly communicate technology and business benefits in particular customer situation and effectively lead a value creation process relevant to the Cisco solutions for this particular customer segment.

Who You Are

To be successful, the Business Development Manager (BDM) would need to understand buying behaviors of the customers as well as the partners that serve these customers. In addition, the BDM will need to take into account the competitive environment that exists in each market, and learn and respond to how our top competitors roll out sales programs across the region. You ideally have 8+ years experience in the IT industry, preferably in channel development, or sales and/or partner programs development, or consulting-led sales, and must have some business development or program management experience but sales management or sales experience highly desirable.

Minimum requirements for this roles are:
• Ability to transition from strategic thinking to managing and solving tactical issues
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work cross-functionally across various organizations to drive outcomes - requires ability to influence without owning processes or organizations directly
• Proven ability to influence and lead in a highly matrixed model 
• Excellent written, verbal communication, listening and presentation skills. Able to articulate complex ideas and strategies to people at all levels of the organization.
• Familiarity with Cisco’s full products, architectures and services offerings an added plus
• Background and understanding of product, service, and channels sales at Cisco or comparable experience from another company
• Track record of successful performance as a “change agent” 
• Experience building actionable mid-term and short term business plans based on a deep understanding of the market and execution levers
• Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university/college. MBA desirable but not required.
