Description:

Warehouse Automation Engineering Group -

  • Development and commercialization of new warehouse automation technologies in support of Supply Chain's productivity and capacity agendas.
  • Define warehouse equipment scope and requirements in response to upstream equipment rates and existing warehouse management systems
  • Develop and execute work plans to identify technology and identify suppliers capable of achieving the requirements.
  • Work with vendors to develop new technology in accordance with current best practices to fulfill business needs
  • Conduct throughput validation activities such as modeling and testing with external suppliers and consultants.
  • Develop technology specifications and validation plans for full scale sourcing, factory inspection tests and equipment acceptance.
  • Execute material handling technology commercialization into a pilot system including the development of capital requirements, operational and performance metrics, and schedule attainment.
  • Develop equipment installation and start-up plans while supervising contractors and vendors.
  • Engage and lead cross-functional teams and outside resources, including vendors and consultants, to develop, support and execute capital projects.
  • Support warehouse maintenance and operations teams in developing SOPs for newly developed systems
  • Perform basic economic evaluations on new systems and estimate the potential business value.
  • Manage budget, schedule attainment and performance metrics attainment.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Expected travel 20% to 30%
  • Develop equipment costing, IP, Safety, and Vendor Commercialization which best matches business needs
  • Support corporate standards and specifications


Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 4 to 6 years Warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, aggressive, results-oriented culture.
  • Communication skills to work with all levels of the organization from manufacturing employees to corporate executives.
  • ·Strong technical competencies in at least one engineering discipline with solid understanding in several preferred.
