Position Summary:
Join Fairfax Behavioral Health today and provide help, hope, and healing. We currently have an available opportunity for a Therapist in our Tacoma, Washington school.

Fairfax Behavioral Health is a 187 licensed bed facility providing psychiatric and dual disorders treatment for children, adolescents and adults as well as three alternative school programs and CD services. Fairfax Behavioral Health currently has three hospital locations in in Kirkland, Everett and Monroe as well as three Northwest School of Innovative Learning campuses. The Northwest School of Innovative Learning (NWSOIL) is an alternative school serving all age groups which currently has three Washington campuses in Tacoma, Redmond and Olympia with plans for further expansion.

Fairfax Hospital is currently seeking a full-time therapist for the Northwest School of Innovative Learning (NWSOIL) in Tacoma, WA. The school therapist performs social service functions, including assisting students in meeting their biopsychosocial needs using therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. The Therapist will provide basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for students/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and provide information and referrals as needed.


The qualifications for the position include a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field. A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health care setting, with direct experience in individual, family, and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills is preferred; must have strong clinical assessment skills. Must possess a state license within two years of employment and must be state certified in social work or clinical related mental health field (LMHC).  Full licensure is preferred.  May be required to work flexible hours and overtime. Must be qualified to provide clinical supervision to student interns. Must be CPR, 1st Aide and CPI certified (can obtain within 30 days of hire).
