*Role Description*

The incumbent will be responsible for development and maintenance of tools, interfaces, and algorithms supporting the Medicinal Sciences organization. Primary responsibilities will be on in-house development work, with a mix of some support for commercial tools. The successful candidate will assist end users with training/use of internal tools. These interactions will provide an understanding of how to improve tools to better support users' needs. Additionally, the individual will work on a variety of smaller projects, enabling/simplifying workflows, prototyping novel algorithms, testing new technologies, etc. A background in the life-sciences with excellent communication skills will be helpful for success in this position.



*Responsibilities*

*Expertise developing/supporting enterprise java applications, including working with end user scientists to refine use cases to a set of prioritized requirements.*Experience with web-based development, focused on responsive, interactive applications.*Knowledge of and experience with commercial computational chemistry toolkits (e.g., ChemAxon, OpenEye) and software (e.g., MOE, Schrodinger).*Ability to communicate clearly within a development team and to end users.



*Qualifications*

Requirements*BS in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience*Expertise as a scientific programmer - particularly in Java - both developing user interfaces and algorithms, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry*Experience with web development.*Team player - able to work as part of a larger development team and/or directly with end users. To be successful, excellent communication skills are a must.*Strong Linux and Windows skills.*Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks, dynamically determining priority based on need, while keeping all customers apprised of the status of their request(s).Other Skills*Knowledge/experience with relational database technologies (Oracle/MySQL).*Knowledge/experience related to GPGPU programming.*Expertise in C/C , Python, Objective-C, .NET.NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Occasional business travel, mostly in the NE US
