Job Details

Work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-oriented, laboratory environment to perform trace analytical experiments to support Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Drug Product (DP) Manufacturing Operations.


+ Under the direction of a senior scientist or manager, develop and deliver trace analysis support of commercial manufacturing in Kalamazoo.

+ Trace analysis support requests may include isolation and analysis of unknown materials, comparison of known materials to determine source of unknown materials, solvent compatibility studies and extraction studies.

+ Additional analytical techniques may be needed which may include gravimetric analysis, titrations, XRF, ICP-MS, and/or XRD analysis.

+ Maintain laboratory area and equipment in clean, safe, functional order.


+ B.S. or M.S. degree in organic, analytical, physical chemistry, or another relevant scientific discipline or equivalent laboratory experience.

+ Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years analytical laboratory experience.

+ Experience with IR analysis and/or microscopy experience preferred.


The position involves working in a laboratory environment, which may include standing for long periods of time and working with chemicals.

A steady hand and good vision is necessary for isolation and manipulation of small particles.


The position may require colleagues to work off-hours, weekends and/or holidays to meet business or customer needs.
