Description We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join the Oncology Therapeutic Discovery Group in Pfizer's Oncology Research Unit. The successful applicant will assist in supporting reagent generation for our functional genomics screening platforms and provide weekly cell culture and assay support. The research scientist will be asked to provide support for shRNA/CRISPR reagent generation for Worldwide R&D projects that include:



-Providing cell culture, molecular biology cloning support for shRNA/CRISPR vector construction

-Providing weekly assay and data analysis support for target validation and screens



**Role Responsibilities**

The successful candidate will work independently as part of a research team that is focused on generating reagents for functional genomics screens and target validation in the OTD department. He/she will also provide weekly assay development and cell culture support for a number of different assay formats.



+ Provide molecular biology support to generate vector specific shRNA and/or CRISPR clones to support WRD projects

+ Track and inventory all shRNA/ CRISPR sequencing results for all new clones and library pools

+ Provide liquid handling support for 96 well /384 well plate formatted high throughput assays

+ Perform phenotypic and functional assays and screens

+ Provide and manage reagent inventories for compound, shRNA, and CRISPR library reagents



The candidate is expected to:



+ Work independently to perform and deliver high quality functional genomics reagents on a weekly basis.

+ Support, execute, and analyze/interpret experiments related to different assays and formats.

+ Present research results and discuss methods at weekly/monthly group meetings

+ Contribute to building a culture that embraces scientific innovation



**Qualifications**

B.S. degree with a minimum 6 years' experience working in industry



+ Knowledge and experience using automated liquid platforms such a Janus/Biomek or Tecan is required

+ Knowledge and experience in supporting mammalian cell culture is required

+ Experience in performing, optimizing, and analyzing assay data using 96/384 well microtiter assay formats is required

+ Experience with High Content imaging of FACS based cell analysis experience not necessary but beneficial
