Job Details

We are seeking a self-motivated and collaborative scientist with demonstrated expertise in steroid receptors or/and DNA damage areas to join our team in the Tumor Cell Biology Department of Oncology R&D in La Jolla, California, to contribute to the success of Pfizer Oncology drug discovery and development. A successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of prostate cancer biology or/and DNA damage and repair pathways.







**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**







+ Participate in drug discovery and translational research projects focusing on targeting steroid receptors or/and DNA damage repair pathways, investigate resistance mechanisms and combination opportunities.



+ Collaborate with Pfizer's world-class chemical biology and computational biology groups to identify novel mechanisms and targets regulating sensitivity of targeted therapeutics



+ Contribute to experimental drug discovery and identification of optimal combinatorial therapeutic regimens for cancer treatment employ cutting-edge in vitro methods and animal models



+ Work in a multi-disciplinary team to develop novel small molecule cancer therapeutics.



+ Contribute to all stages of preclinical drug discovery and development



+ Strong laboratory background to design, conduct experiments, analyze and present cell biology mechanism of action studies and develop novel combination concepts to support Oncology pipeline



+ Actively and effectively interact with cross-functional lines







**QUALIFICATIONS**







+ Bachelor's degree in Biology or related subjects with 6 plus years' laboratory experience in an industrial or academic setting; preferentially master's degree in cell biology or related field with at least 5 years' experience in an industrial or academic setting



+ Track record of successful contribution to research projects leading to advancement of projects



+ Significant experiences with an array of molecular and cell biology methods







Technical Skill Requirements







+ Strong expertise and in-depth technical knowledge of targeting steroid receptors or/and DNA damage and repair pathways



+ A proven high-level of technical competence and extensive experience in standard cell and molecular biology and assays for studying steroid receptors or/and DNA damage and repair pathway are essential



+ Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English. Proficiency in all common office and scientific software



+ Strong ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative in a diverse team environment.
