Description A career at Pfizer offers opportunity, ownership and impact.

All over the world, Pfizer colleagues work together to positively impact health for everyone, everywhere. Our colleagues have the opportunity to grow and develop a career that offers both individual and company success; be part of an ownership culture that values diversity and where all colleagues are energized and engaged; and the ability to impact the health and lives of millions of people. Pfizer, a global leader in the biopharmaceutical industry, is continuously seeking top talent who are inspired by our purpose to innovate to bring therapies to patients that significantly improve their lives.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who will be able to join our Chemical Biology team at Pfizer Oncology. As chemical biology is multidisciplinary, spanning chemistry, cell biology, pharmacology, mass spectrometry and in-vivo tumor cell biology, we are looking for an energetic person with the desire to learn and work at the intersection of these disciplines. Under limited supervision, the candidate will be responsible for sample preparation of small molecule probe experiments in mammalian cell culture and analysis of these samples using a variety of protein detection methods. The successful candidate must be capable of working in a highly collaborative environment where they are comfortable communicating their experimental data to the project team.

The candidate should possess excellent communication and problem solving skills, be motivated, able to multi-task, to work independently, and to maintain detailed laboratory database records. In addition, a track record of successful teamwork and interpersonal relationships is highly desired.

The primary responsibilities are: maintenance and scale-up of mammalian cell culture lines, in-situ small molecule probe treatments, click-chemistry of complex protein lysates, fluorescence and western blot protein detection using classical gel based and capillary detection, protein analysis and characterization using bottom-up and top-down mass spectrometric analysis, quantitative mass spectrometry and data entry of all experimental records into various database systems.

Education and Experience

Required qualifications are a B.S. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related discipline with 6+ years' (or M.S. with 5+ years') full-time laboratory experience in a lab setting with specific experience in mammalian cell culture, knowledge and proficiency in aseptic technique, sterile media preparation, protein biochemistry, click-chemistry methods, small molecule chemoproteomic strategies for the analysis and quantification of drug targets from mammalian cell and tumor samples. Hands on experience with regular maintenance and up keep of LC-MS instrumentation are advantageous but not essential.
