We are seeking an energetic and motivated Scientist with experience with in vitro and ex vivo assays with primary human and mouse immune cells to join our Research Unit in South San Francisco and to contribute to exciting immune-oncology therapeutic approaches. The successful applicant will be an integral part of a research team evaluating novel antibodies and biologics for the treatment of cancer. They should express a keen interest in developing novel therapies and have a demonstrated record of conducting immunology research.


+ Contribute to preclinical development of new antibodies and biologics to modulate immune cells for the treatment of cancer.

+ Use standard tissue culture to support primary mouse and human T cell in vitro assays.

+ Use standard immunology techniques such as flow cytometry to support ex vivo analysis of cells from animal tissues.

+ Analyze, organize, and present results in small and large group meetings.

+ Read relevant scientific literature to aid in experimental design.

+ Contribute to a dynamic, exciting culture that embraces teamwork and innovation.


+ B.S. degree in Biology with 8+ years' experience, or M.S. degree in biology with 5+ years' experience.

+ Biology degree specializing in molecular biology, cellular biology, or immunology preferred.

+ Prior experience in the fields of immunology or cancer biology highly preferred. Strong understanding of innate and adaptive immune systems a plus.

+ Solid technical knowledge and hands-on experience with conventional immunological techniques including flow cytometry, cytokine release, cytotoxicity and proliferation assays, T cell isolation, MACS.

+ Experience in immune cell isolation and characterization using multi-color flow cytometry.

+ Demonstrated proficiency in the use of software tools to support data analysis tasks (e.g., Prism, FlowJo, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

+ Must have excellent organization and planning skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as part of a team, good verbal and written communication, and strong motivation with a dedicated work ethic.

+ A willingness to learn and adopt new experimental skills as needed is essential.
